Headshot-as-a-Service was a success, but I have to say it didn’t quite turn out the way I wanted. Finding a proper location was hard, getting the lighting right (which I don’t think I did) and without any advertising except my own blog posts and tweets, the turnout wasn’t quite what I had expected. If I’m doing this again, there are some things that needs to be changed in both execution and setup.
Hot on the heels of VMworld Europe 2018, Veeam is hosting its annual virtual conference on december 5th. Just like last year, I will be part of the panel in the Expert Lounge!
The keynote by Sanjay Poonen on day two continues to drive this message, as well as how we can use technology for good. Robin Matlocks how do we use our collective talents to ensure we have a better future for everyone resonates well, and serves as a great for Martha Lane Fox, the Dot com dinosaur. Her talk about the early .com-era and how technology today has a reponsibility to be a force for good was great!
The keynotes at VMworld Europe are always interesting, mostly because one always wonders what was left to announce from the US equivalent that is earlier in the year. This year there was a good gap between the US version in August, and the European one in November, unlike last year when it was only a couple of weeks, so my hope was that there would be some real new news and announcements in Barcelona.
As previously announced, I’ll be offering headshots for anyone who pops by at the announced times. After having a look at the VMworld layout this yeah, I’ve found a spot where I can set up everything without causing anyone trouble.
Sadly there was not enough available space at the VMTN and VMware {code} area, but luckily there was some space nearby that I can use!
Day zero started of with the Nordic & Baltic VMware Partner Briefing Brunch at the Hotel W. The parter briefing contained updates on the way forward for VMware Partner Central as well as upcoming updates to the partner model, something I look forward too. In my opinion, and thankfully VMware’s too, Partner Central is way overdue a major overhaul, so this is good news!
I got in to Barcelona yesterday, and I have to say it is really nice to have some time before the actual VMworld crazyness starts. With no need to rush anything, we just found the hotel Arrow ECS Norway has booked for us, and relax.
Liselotte Foverskov, Blogger, vExpert and VMUG.dk extraordinaire has created a great video with VMworld 2018 tips from various Nordic VMworld-veterans, just in time for the event in Barcelona next week. Check it out!
VMworld Europe 2018 is just over a week away, and I figured it would be time to announce some more details surrounding Headshot-as-a-Service. Since I have been unable to secure a permanent location for this at the event, I’ve decided to have it set up somewhere close to the Bloggers Lounge and vBrownbag in the Social Hub.
VMUG Denmark yet again is arranging the Nordic VMUG Conference, this time in Copenhagen on January 31st 2019. The agenda is still a work in progress, and is not finalized, but I’ll be there!
